Here is One of the top marketing ideas that will help to convert prospects
into customers:
I attended a Marketing Conference in mid-November. And it was totally awesome! The speakers were excellent and many were the very top marketers in
their fields! One thing that many of them taught was the importance
of "Social Proof" - References from customers. Or, as Joel Bauer says,
"Social proof is someone else living vicariously through the quote of one
of your customers." They believe it more and maybe even feel it when they
read what someone else has said about you.
How important is this 'Social Proof'? So, important that Joel Bauer, a man who
has made millions influencing people, has a quote right on his business card.
(His is from the Los Angeles Times.) He recommends having some type of valuable
quote from a customer right on the front of your business card. Imagine how
it would feel to a potential customer who reads your biz card for the first
time and it says, "I haven't laughed so much in a long time! " Who
is not going to believe that you have the power to entertain well?
Now, for the big question: How do you get such wonderful quotes?
Answer: You ask for them.
My performing website (BobMillerMagic.com)
has a page that is dedicated to listing past customers, and what they've said
about me. You should see it. It is a map of the main states that I perform in.
A customer can click on any city and see a list of clients from that city. For
some of these clients, there is an actual letter posted online that any prospects
can read.
How do I get these? One of the many great features of MagicBase is that it can
print a 'Referral Request Form' automatically for any customer. (I do this at
the same time that I print the contract. Then I just hand the customer the form
in self-addressed and stamped return envelope.) Rather than a photocopied form
letter asking for show comments, this is a mail-merged form that has the event
name, the date, and the customer's name on it. Also, in the request for a response,
it says, "Anything written here may be used for promotional purposes."
This sentence does two things:
1) The customer is giving you permission to use any quotable quotes that
might be written.
2) It subtly tells the customer to frame their comments in a way that can be
used as a quotable quote.

Just a quick idea here, since I spent so long on marketing.
Kids entertainers: Always bring a roll of CAUTION tape in your show case. This
is the yellow and black plastic ribbon that is used to mark off construction
sites. If the kids will most likely sit on the floor and crowd you by coming
in too close, then just tape a length of this to the floor to mark the front
line. It works really well!

Current MagicBase users: there is an updater posted on the MagicBase site that
will bring your current version of MagicBase up to 2.3 (Mac) or 2.4 (Windows).
If you have an earlier version of MagicBase, I'd strongly recommend that you
run the updater. One of the great new features of version 2.3 is the FlexContract.
Now you can create a completely flexible mail-merge contract with graphics.
Windows users: We've just recently posted a valuable, third party, printing
utility called 'Print to .pdf'. Use it to transform any letters or contracts
into a .pdf file that can be emailed to a client. (Mac users already have this
feature in OS X.)
